Hello!
I am Julie.
Glad You Are Here.
You’re probably wondering
why this page exists
Good question!
I made this space specifically for Sid Lee.

I’m a designer who’s very into social psychology.
My design process is like everyone else – research, ideation, testing, refinement, same as what we’re taught in school.
But what excites me most is thinking about how design connects to emotion and behaviour.
How does this make someone feel?
And what might that feeling make them do?
I’m constantly thinking about how design connects to emotion and behaviour. How small visual decisions can shift perception, create pressure, or quietly guide attention.
“Invisible Influence” is a non-fiction book, exploring the subtle pressure of social forces — how people move, align, conform, and shift direction without noticing.
Through composition, spacing, contrast, and motion,
I aimed to visualize influence not as something loud,
but as something ambient — persistent and quietly powerful.

Creative Process
The design draws inspiration from 1980s glass block windows, which let light in while still offering privacy.
I translated that idea into a soft, wavy glow to represent hidden layers and interconnectedness , the unseen factors that quietly shape human behaviour.
Abstract shapes, distortion, and overlapping elements help express this visually, creating something that feels intriguing, layered, and quietly meaningful.

The Solution
The cover balances abstraction with clarity, making it visually expressive without feeling overwhelming.
A bright, soft gradient palette reflects the dynamic and emotional nature of influence.
Clean sans-serif typography keeps the layout modern and easy to read, grounding the abstract visuals with structure and clarity.
